An image plus a thousand words

The internet has always supported bringing a richer, more immersive message for the viewer than traditional media. When we set out to build this website, we knew much of the content would be conveyed using images and while the old adage stating “that a picture is worth a thousand words” stands true, we know that for many images a narrative would be invaluable.

To enhance the narrative we designed the site to use images with embedded annotations. Based on our research we found two services offering image annotations, ThingLink and Stipple. Both products offer very similar functionality however we ranked the following features to find the ideal solution for this website.

In-image annotations criteria

  1. Mobile friendly
  2. Analytics
  3. WordPress integration
  4. Embedable features

Thinglink was the hands down winner on WordPress integration and analytics.

This video shows how simple it is to set up in-image annotations.

We hope you enjoy the image annotations and embedded content. Be sure to hover over each image to find all the embedded content across the site.
